Joy is a certified RCM Specialist in both Practical Piano and Theory. Students receive structured, level-based training aligned with the official RCM curriculum, designed for long-term success.
Joy is a dedicated piano educator with over 25 years of teaching and performance experience, known for her structured approach and strong sense of responsibility in guiding each student’s musical development. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Piano Performance (Honours) and a Master’s degree in Piano Pedagogy, and has further developed her musical perspective through extensive study and performance experience across Europe, including Germany, Austria, Spain, and the Netherlands.
As an RCM Certified Teacher, Joy provides a carefully structured program that integrates both Practical Piano and Theory, helping students build a solid technical foundation while developing musical understanding and expressive playing. Her teaching is highly individualized, with close attention given to each student’s progress. From daily practice habits to performance preparation, she is committed to guiding students with consistency and accountability, ensuring steady and meaningful improvement.
Over the years, her students have consistently achieved strong results in RCM examinations, competitions, and performance settings, reflecting both their hard work and the effectiveness of a structured learning system.
Joy is committed not only to teaching piano, but to guiding each student to grow into a confident and well-rounded musician.

Administrative Assistant
- Hello, my name is Sora Chin, and I am the Administrative Assistant at Calgary Joyful Piano. I am responsible for a variety of administrative tasks, including student registration, lesson scheduling, and class communications. I also support Joy so she can focus on teaching and helping each student grow. My goal is to ensure smooth communication with our families and provide a welcoming and positive experience for every student and parent.
